This Privacy Policy explains how Groceries To-Do ("we", "our", or "the app") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our app.
Account Information. Google Sign-In shares your name, email address, and profile photo. Email/Password sign-in collects your email address — passwords are managed by Firebase Authentication and are never accessible by us. Guest Mode collects no personal information; a temporary anonymous account is created on your device.
Your App Data. Your grocery lists, meal plans, pantry items, price history, and nutrition goals are stored in Firebase Firestore (a Google Cloud service), associated with your account.
Usage Analytics. Firebase Analytics collects anonymized, aggregate data about how the app is used — which features you access, session duration, and general device information. This data does not include personally identifiable information.
Crash Reports. Firebase Crashlytics automatically collects technical crash reports (device model, OS version, app version, stack trace) when the app encounters an error. No personal data is included.
Advertising. We display ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect your device's Advertising ID to show relevant ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising in your device settings under Privacy > Advertising.
AI Food Scanner. When you use the AI Food Scanner, photos you take are sent to our server-side Cloud Functions for real-time food identification. Images are processed immediately and are not stored after processing is complete.
Local Device Data. App preferences (theme, currency, notification settings) and price history are stored locally on your device. This data does not leave your device except as described above.
Notifications. Reminders are scheduled locally on your device. No notification content is transmitted to our servers.
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with trusted third-party service providers required to operate the app:
Google Firebase — authentication, database, analytics, crash reporting (privacy.google.com)
Google AdMob — advertising (policies.google.com/privacy)
RevenueCat — subscription management, if you subscribe to premium (revenuecat.com/privacy)
Your account data is retained until you request deletion. To delete your account and all associated data, use Settings > Data & Privacy > Delete Account in the app, or email us with the subject "Data Deletion Request" at the address in Section 8.
Guest account data is automatically removed when you uninstall the app or sign out.
This app is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the app and provided personal information, please contact us immediately so we can delete the data.
We may offer premium subscription features in the future. This Privacy Policy will be updated before any premium features that change data practices are released.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the version number and effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
